But we review air purifiers based on how well they clean air, not how good they look on a shelf. And that is where the Briiv story gets complicated.

We spent weeks researching the Briiv 2 Pro, examining independent test data, comparing specs against HEPA alternatives, and calculating the true cost of ownership. Here is what we found.

The Briiv 2 Pro is a moss-based air purifier designed and manufactured in the UK. Our Verdict

The Briiv 2 Pro is an admirable product that solves a real problem: the waste and environmental impact of conventional air purifiers. Its design is stunning, its noise output is exceptional, and its sustainability credentials are legitimate.

But as an air purifier, it is outperformed by HEPA units costing half as much. A $190 Levoit Core 400S delivers 4x the CADR and covers a room more than twice the size. A $230 Coway Airmega 200M does the same with a proven track record.

We give the Briiv 2 Pro a 6.5 out of 10. It loses points for air cleaning performance and value relative to HEPA alternatives, but earns them back for design, noise, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
